Our firm acted as the consulting planner to the Sacramento County Planning & Community Development Department in developing the Antelope Special Planning Area. The firm prepared a number of alternatives before producing a final recommendation in an effort to help the Board of Supervisors achieve goals set forth in the Sacramento County General Plan.
The Board of Supervisors adopted the Don Julio Special Planning Area Ordinance intending to permit development in a manner that allows mixed use development including commercial, office, residential and public/quasi public uses. The character of land uses and their locations are intended to promote walking and biking, thus reducing reliance on cars and meeting county, regional and state air quality goals.
The design and development standards require complete streets, building standards, parking, energy efficiency, and crime prevention through environmental design.
